ABOUT THE SHOW

Created exclusively by BJM, launched by Louis Robitaille and directed by Eric Jean for the 375th anniversary of Montreal, Dance Me is inspired by the Leonard Cohen’s music. Using Cohen’s most successes works (from Suzanne to Hallelujah, through Dance Me to the End of Love), this show draws a portrait of the many facets of the famous Montreal poet and composer (who approved the project before his death in 2016). Based on the five stages of life, and divided into five scenes, Dance Me expresses sentiments characteristic of Cohen’s work, and his profound outlook on the world. Dance Me is an extraordinary interdisciplinary creation, a complete production combining dance, music, lights and videos, and the show’s choreography entrusted to Andonis Foniadakis, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Ihsan Rustem showcases the great technicality and incredible energy of the BJM dancers. Solo, pairs and in groups, they have created a magnificent, vibrant tribute to the greatest of Montreal’s icons.
