ABOUT

Evgeny Kissin has achieved a unique level of piano performance, through mastering the technical and poetry of his programs like no other. In this season of a Beethoven anniversary, he devotes a full evening to the German master with three sonatas punctuated by Variations and Fugues. The Théâtre des Champs-Elysées has historically hosted many performances throughout the long relationship shared between Kissin and Beethoven ; performances including the sonatas n ° 3, 14, 21, 23, 26 and 29, the 32 Variations and the complete piano concertos with the National Orchestra of France and Kurt Masur. Two years ago, Kissin marked his return to Deutsche Grammophon label with a double live album, recorded live at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, finding the live theatre setting provided the extra soul that is difficult to achieve in the studio. The future promises many more upcoming recitals to look forward to –  we watch on as Kissin’s extraordinary musical story continues to flourish from season to season.
