Despite the difficult living and working conditions, the company is making a special return to Paris for the festive season with The Snow Queen, a ballet in two acts based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen.
Written in 1844, The Snow Queen still fascinates young and old audiences worldwide. The numerous international adaptations have only added to the popularity of this beautiful story, written in just five days! Based on the original tale, this choreographic version by Aniko Rekhviashvili relates a story of friendship and bravery as young Gerda embarks on an epic journey to find her friend. An initiatory and philosophical experience, The Snow Queen promises an evening of magic, action and suspense in snowy settings and magical costumes. A festive and family show, an enchantment for all ages!
Gerda and Kay, two childhood friends, live peacefully in their snowy village. One day, Kai receives a fragment of an evil mirror that makes him cold and insensitive, like ice. Gerda powerlessly attends to his transformation. When he disappears, the girl starts a long journey, filled with adventure and encounters, to find her friend. Her unfailing determination leads her to the coldest parts of the northern kingdom, beyond the Arctic Circle, where the mysterious Snow Queen lives in her ice palace…
