ABOUT THE SHOW
As part of TranscenDanses, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées presents an evening in tribute to Hans van Manen, following his recent passing, performed by the Dutch National Ballet.
The Dutch National Ballet honours one of the major figures of European dance, Hans van Manen. A visionary choreographer, regarded as one of the great masters of 20th-century ballet, he reshaped the landscape of neoclassical and contemporary dance through his refined, elegant style and striking musical precision.
The company will perform five works: Adagio Hammerklavier, Solo, Frank Bridge Variations, Two Pieces for Het, and 5 Tango’s. These pieces offer a journey through his artistic universe, balancing suspended tension, virtuosity, rigor and sensuality, and tracing the evolution of his career.
With this programme, the Dutch National Ballet seeks to carry forward his legacy and offer Paris audiences a rare opportunity to experience the full diversity of his repertoire.
