BIOGRAPHY
Born in Lviv in 2004, Bohdan Luts started violin at an early age and continued his studies in Kiev in the class of Olga Korinets, then in Lviv with Maria Futorska. Currently a student at the Menuhin International Music Academy in Switzerland, he is training with Oleg Kaskiv, Guillaume Chilemme and Renaud Capuçon, and regularly attends master classes with renowned musicians and teachers such as Gabor Takacz-Nagy, Liviu Prunariu, Nicolaj Szeps-Znaider, Pablo de Naveran, Ivan Vukcevic and Jean-Jacques Kantorow.
A winner of several international competitions, he was awarded the Grand Prize and First Prize at the Lviv Virtuoso Competition and Third Prize at the Arthur Grumiaux Competition in Belgium. In 2022, at only 17, Bohdan won 1st Prize at the prestigious Carl Nielsen Competition in Denmark and 1st Prize as well as the Audience Prize at the 2nd Alberto Lysy Competition in Gstaad. The following year, he triumphed at the renowned Long-Thibaud International Competition, winning both the Audience and Press Prizes.
Bohdan Luts has performed at prestigious festivals including the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad and the Bellerive Music Festival. As a soloist, he has been invited by the Odense Symphony Orchestra, the Copenhagen and Lviv Philharmonic Orchestras, the Virtuoso Chamber Orchestra and the Trembita Chamber Orchestra, and has performed under the baton of such renowned conductors as Michel Plasson, Anna-Maria Helsing, Taras Krysa, Yaroslav Shemet, Jurek Dybal and Jean-Jacques Kantorow.
Upcoming projects include a recording with the Odense Symphony Orchestra for Orchid Classics. In the 24/25 season, he will make his debut with the Orchestre national de Lille conducted by Jean-Claude Casadesus, the Orchestre philharmonique de Monte-Carlo with Kazuki Yamada, the Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse conducted by Marie Jacquot and the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra with Aivis Greters for the New Year concerts.
Bohdan is performing on the Carlo Antonio Testore violin, genuinely loaned by Mr. Walter Fischli.
