BIOGRAPHY

As Paavo Järvi’s assistant conductor from 2014 to 2018, David Molard Soriano worked with him at the Orchestre de Paris and at his new Estonian Festival Orchestra (Pärnu Music Festival and BBC Proms). At the same time, he assisted conductors like Fabien Gabel and Gustavo Dudamel at the Rencontres Musicales d’Evian.

In 2019, he was appointed Assistant Conductor of the Orchestre National de France. Until 2022, he worked with Emmanuel Krivine and Cristian Macelaru and conducted several educational or radiophonic concerts and recordings with this leading orchestra.

During the 2021/22 season, he was invited to the famous “Folle Journée” Festival in Nantes to conduct Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire and recorded an album dedicated to Piazzolla with National Russian Orchestra.

Future highlights include his major productions at Bordeaux National Opera where Molard Soriano will conduct Madame Butterfly and ballet Don Quixote as well as his debuts with Orchestre National de Metz and National Radio Orchestra of Romania and his comebacks at Brasov Philharmonic.

These past years, David also conducted Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, Orchestre national de Bretagne, Opéra national de Lorraine, Opéra de Limoges, Luxemburg Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre symphonique de Saint-Etienne (France), and the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra with Oscar-winner Gabriel Yared. Also fond of opera, he conducted Carmen, Dialogues des Carmélites, La Traviata and Le Nozze di Figaro (staged by Daniel Slater).

In 2022, he founded the “Rencontres Musicales” at Château d’Ainay-le-Vieil (France) where he assembles his own festival orchestra and offers concerts from recitals to symphonic repertoire. Due to the success of the first edition, the second one will occur in August 2023 with Marie-Ange Nguci, Raphaël Sévère, among others.

As the founder & Music Director of the Orchestre des Jeunes d’Île-de-France, comprised of the best musicians of the young generation, David Molard Soriano presented top-class concerts with a thrilling repertoire – The Firebird complete version, Lutoslawski’s concerto for orchestra, Shostakovich’s 12th symphony, Saint-Saëns’ 3rd symphony on the greatest French organ with Thomas Ospital, and French Lebanese composer Bechara El-Khoury’s residence with soloist Patrick Messina. He led the French edition of Vadim Repin’s famous Trans-Siberian Festival featuring Jean-Claude Casadesus and Nicholas Angelich in Lille in December 2019.

PRESS QUOTES

« In these works by Shostakovich and Schönberg, he demonstrates a remarkable cohesion and a real sense of narrative, he knows how to create permanent tension: here is a name to be remembered, a career to be followed, clearly.”
Philippe Herlin.

“Jupiter”: the title of Mozart’s 41st symphony clearly inspires an orchestra whose interpretation combines energy, nervous attacks and luminosity in a harmonious construction. Each division reveals the desire to provide the best of itself: David Molard takes the best out of all this goodwill – and all this talent!
